Physiology of BREATH workshop w/Anna Davis
Tap in to the dance of your mind, body and spirit by listening for the song of your breath.
April 19th, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

When we exercise, our breath speeds up. When we rest, our breath slows down. Moment to moment, these subtle adjustments to the rhythm of the breath ensure that our body gets what it needs to stay alive. These dynamic adjustments occur in the absence of any conscious effort and most of the time are just beneath the surface of our awareness.
However, if we turn our attention to observing the breath, we gain access to what yogis call the subtle body. In the language of yoga, this deeper listening uses breath (prana) as a guide to explore pathways that link the energetic body (pranamaya kosha) to the physical body (anamaya kosha) and to the mind and spirit.

Please join Dr. Anna Davis, physiologist and yoga instructor for a workshop entitled Physiology of Breath. In the workshop, you’ll learn the scientific principles that govern respiration, explore yogic breathing techniques (pranayama) and then incorporate what you have learned in a 1.5 hour all-levels yoga class. Class will be followed by a question and answer session.
